Love Like Fire | Cassandra Soars

I endorse Cassandra Soars with great love. I am grateful for the ways Cassandra poured out her life in Pemba. Her book, Love Like Fire, captures the joys and challenges of life on the mission field. It describes one of the hardest seasons in my life, but God is faithful and has restored all things beyond what I could have imagined, miraculously healing Rolland. I pray that each person who reads this will be encouraged to allow God to take hold of their lives and give everything for His glory, even in the toughest circumstances.

WOW!! I loved this book and highly recommend it. It is fascinating - I was so humbled and incredulous, really, at the life Heidi and Roland Baker have chosen. What an amazing portrayal of their life thus far. This is indeed a book about love. The book is very real, sharing the good and the bad. It is beautifully written and I was so encouraged by how God is doing miracles today!!

Cassandra paints a masterpiece with her words!

Over the past decade I have heard Heidi Baker speak on numerous occasions. Cassandra Soars biography of Heidi's life is not just accurate, but it causes the reader to feel as if they themselves have been to Mozambique. She artistically paints a masterpiece with her words in describing all that one would see, feel, taste, touch and hear if you were to be a part of a missionary team with Iris Ministries. This is a must read! It will cause you to be in awe of our Creator, challenge your walk with Him, and inspire you to love more! I bought two, one for me and one to give away, but I'm thinking I need far more!

I have read many of Heidi's books, and served with Iris on the base in Pemba and internationally, yet this book provided a fresh view of what the Lord has done in and through Heidi and Rolland and Iris Global. I was actually going through a rather hard time in my life when I picked up this book. How encouraging it was to learn that Heidi actually struggled with one of the diseases I am currently battling now! Yet she still continued to say yes to the Lord and to His heart. Thank you Cassandra for writing this book! I found it an easy read - it brings the reader into the story and leaves one with a fuller understanding of God as well as a heart to love Him and say yes to Him. He is so faithful and good and true!

I've read many books on the lives of missionaries but none that surpasses "Love Like Fire". It brings you inside the heart of God through the life and ministry of Heidi Baker beginning with her youthful calling and continuing through the assignments she said "yes" to in order to reach the poorest of the poor. The sacrificial love that inspired Heidi's and Rolland's obedience and the fruit that's come forth from it both inspires and imparts something deep and connective to the reader. Cassandra has done an exceptional job in giving us a portrait of the incredible blessings and sacrifices it takes to reach the world with the love of Jesus! I highly recommend this book.
